| Hoichi lives alone in the mountains of Nagano in Japan. He carefully creates human-sized puppets, then bring them to life. He roams the nature, miming silently stories by means of his puppets. Never making them speak, Hoichi becomes silent, Silesco. In full winter near Sofia in Bulgaria, a big popular gathering, very noisy and festive, takes place. It is an old pagan tradition. The villagers, by means of hairy disguises invade villages with marching bands. Their purpose is to make noise as much as possible to frighten the evil spirits away, to break the cold silence of winter. |
